Sewer:

There are specific regulations in Stone County for septic tanks to foster a safe and healthful environment. Refer to the Stone County Health Department with directives on the steps you should take if you’re buying or selling a property with a septic tank. When building, Stone County Planning & Zoning Department will want to inspect the sewer system and may require a perc test to determine the type of system suitable for your property.

• Regulations and permits may be required and will be determined by who (state, county or city) maintains the roadway.
• If you wish to place a driveway along a MoDOT roadway, traffic surveys and approval will be required from MoDOT. A property surveyor or commercial property attorney can assist with MoDOT regulations.
