Skaggs
Community Health Center of Branson
serves all of Stone and Taney Counties as well as
adjoining counties in Missouri and Arkansas.
Founded in 1950, the hospital system includes a
large outpatient center and 21 satellite medical clinics
in Branson, Branson West, Forsyth, Hollister and
Kimberling City. A physical and occupational therapy
facility and medical offices with rotating specialists
will open in summer 2005 in Branson West.
Skaggs, as a not-for-profit hospital, is entirely
self-supporting and receives no tax monies.
More than 150 physicians provide a high level of
medical care in two dozen specialties. More than
1,000 personnel support the facilities. Skaggs holds
the highest national accreditation from the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare
Organizations.
Skaggs operates a 24-hour emergency department,
surgical department for general surgical, vascular,
orthopedic, eye and urology procedures; catheterization
lab for cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional
capabilities; critical care and intensive care
units, transitional care unit and Skaggs Family
Birthing Place. Skaggs Regional Cardiac Center
opened in 2002 in a team project with Washington
University of St. Louis.
Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech
therapy, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, home
health care, hospice care, sleeping disorder treatment,
sports medicine and other services are available.
Cox Health Center in Branson offers family
practice physicians and rotating specialists in several
fields as well as support services and technology.
St. John’s Clinic in Branson West, as well as other
St. John’s facilities, are rated one of the nation’s top
10 clinics.
