Scholarship Program

The Table Rock Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will award a total of $3,000 in scholarships to Stone County graduating students in 2007.

The scholarship program has grown over the last three years from one $500 scholarship, to two $1000 scholarships in 2006.  “We are excited to announce that three $1,000 scholarships will be presented in May 2007!” commented Anita Prochnow, Chair of the Chamber’s Education Committee.  “This financial growth has become possible due to the outstanding support of the education fundraising efforts and generous sponsorships and contributions!”

The scholarships will be awarded in May to the recipients.   Scholarships will be awarded as follows:  $1,000 to a Reeds Spring student; $1000 to a Blue Eye student; and $1,000 awarded to one student from the combined Crane, Galena and Hurley school districts.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2007 Chamber Education Scholarship Program.  The scholarship program is open to graduating high school seniors in Reeds Spring, Blue Eye, Galena, Crane and Hurley.

Applying for the Table Rock Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship is a simple process.  Applications are available at the Chamber office and will be available through all high school counselors.  Applicants should submit their completed application to the Chamber office no later than April 15th to be eligible for consideration.

“Emphasis of the scholarship is not solely focused on academics,” said Prochnow.  “Although academics is a factor, the review committee also looks at community involvement, school involvement, work history, letters of recommendation, financial need and an essay question.”

If you know of a deserving high school student, please encourage them to submit an application.  If you have questions regarding the scholarship process, please contact Brooke Patterson at the Chamber, 739-2564, or Anita Prochnow (committee chairperson) at 336-7055.
