SCHOLARSHIP FISHING TOURNAMENTS
In an ongoing effort to supply area high school seniors with a scholarship opportunity through the Table Rock
Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, your Education Committee is coordinating the Lakes Area Scholarship
Fishing Tournament(s).
Several tournaments will be held this summer with 50% of funds raised going to the Scholarship
program and 50% as payout to the top team(s). The first tournament will be held at the of Port of Kimberling
on March 1, followed by Cape Fair on April 5, Aunts Creek on May 3, and finishing with Baxter Marine on
June 7, Mill Creek on Sept 6 and Baxter again on Oct 6.
Entry fees will be $50 per team per tournament. Any team wishing to enter all four tournaments up front will
receive a discounted entry fee of $175. “We feel that as a Chamber representing the Lakes area, fishing
tournaments as a fundraiser for education is a natural fit,” said Anita Prochnow, Education Chairperson.
In 2007, three $1000 scholarships were offered to Seniors from Blue Eye,
Crane, Galena, Hurley and Reeds Spring. Our hope in 2008 is again to be
able to offer three $1000 scholarships to students who are seeking to continue
their education beyond high school. Students who are going to vocational
schools, community colleges, and universities are eligible to apply.
If you are interested in entering the tournaments or receiving additional
information, please contact Brooke Patterson.
TEACHER OF THE MONTH
Each month at the Chamber luncheons during the school year, we honor an outstanding Teacher chosen by our area schools and present them with an award and prizes. Click here to see our past Teachers of the Month. For more information, contact Sonya.

ANNUAL MEETING
Each year the Table Rock Lake Area Chamber of Commerce holds their Annual Meeting and Banquet at the Chateau on the Lake. This is a wonderful event that is highly attended and serves as the biggest fundraiser of the year. The evening begins with a huge Silent Auction, loaded with great items donated by area businesses, wonderful hors d'oeuvres, souvenir photos and beautiful piano music. After the bids are in, everyone is seated for delicious four-course meal at tables beautifully decorated by local businesses. The program consists of a keynote speaker, awards and presentations. To end the evening, each person receives a party favor and the centerpieces are given away as door prizes.
Chamber Ambassador of the Year - 2007
Joann Treptow , owner
of Royal Stiches, was honored as the Table Rock Lake Area Chamber
of Commerce Ambassador of the Year at the recently held Chamber Annual Banquet.
The Ambassador program was started last year to assist as the public relations arm of the Chamber. The Ambassadors have assisted in groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, visiting with members on Manic
Monday, calling and collecting gifts for the Banquet Silent Auction, and assisting at many of the
special events hosted by the Chamber.
An Ambassador is recognized monthly by the number of points they receive for their involvement in
Chamber activities. However, the Ambassador of the Year award was developed to recognize the
most outstanding Ambassador who has given many hours of their time and energy throughout the
year.
Community Service Award - 2007

Skaggs Community Health Center is the recipient of the 2007 Community Service Award, presented annually by the Table Rock Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. The Community Service Award is the most prestigious recognition offered by the Table Rock Chamber.
The award was presented Nov. 30 at the Table Rock Chamber’s Annual Banquet and Gala at the Chateau on the Lake Resort Hotel. About 250 people attended the event, which also featured fund-raising live and silent auctions of merchandise and services donated by Chamber members.
Accepting the award on behalf of Skaggs were Board Chairman Leon Combs and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Erixon.
Best of Banquet Award - 2007
Fisher Creek Inn was awarded the "Best of Banquet" Award for the outstanding table presentation they sponsored at the annual banquet. The winner of this annual award is given a trophy adorned with a beautiful crystal bowl to display at their business during the following year. Each year this trophy will be passed on to the next year's winner. Fisher Creek beat out last year's trophy holder, Jim Stafford Theatre. Best of luck next year!
